As Melbourne <Vic Australia was in infancy, the marriage cert I obtained from St Francis church has no parents names or where they originated from. Their 4 children were born and died in Melb. Catherine as widow of George Davis ( no sign of his death) but she and her 4 children are all in a grave in Melb Gen Cem . Her daughter Emma/Ellen was my G Grandmother Barb

Hi Barbara

Looks like they had twin girls, Ellen & Catherine, in Melbourne in 1846, nothing after that. Maybe they went interstate???

As Julie mentions, the actual marriage cert is your best next step (assuming you don't have it) as it should tell you parents names and birthplace.

Cheers

Do you have their marriage certificate ?

Does it give ages, fathers name or any other info.

Where were their children born ?
