Oh my word no wonder we get confused, might actually be the right one after all;
no matches for elizabeth 1867, but when i looked at 1901 census, she states she is 38 which wou;ld make her dob.1863, . and nearest is theone lancashire ann has ,(too many coincidences) just ignore the fact it says married ,costhe name is chambers , the family name and further down thelist their is a dughter-in law. looking into this a bit more tommorrow.
ann of green gables , that one made me laugh, some of the ones i have are howlers also, you just have to trust your judgement.
but found out for definate the dob of john and elizabeths daughter Sarah sept 1884,(so marriage might have been dec1883 as mentioned
ho hum , off igo agin

thank you lancashire ann, it really did look like that was the right one at first glance, the right area, the right birthplace for elizabeth(hebburn) and elizabeth named her first child sarah, BUT granny was only 14 in 1881, i got the date of birth wrong, i put 1863 and it was 1867 on checking the 1891 census... but many thanks its greatly appreciated.
and just to add yeah they often get the counties wrong, ,Jarrow is in co.durham. Way off mark with that oneLOL

is this Elizabeth in 1881 - if so the marriage in 1880 would not be the right one

double checked grans birth certificate and it confirms john jones and elizabeth chambers, and as only one couple married was in 1880, so they were only 13 and 15 , has anyone else heard of people marrying so young, ( I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS ILLEGAL). now back to cardiff !!!!!!

can anyone help me ,as I have hit a brick wall. Not suprising ,with this surname, but never mind, someone might be able to help.
my great-grandfather was born JOHN JONES in Cardiff in 1865. this info is from my grans birth certificate.,also 1891 census for durham(where they were living).
he married elizabeth chambers,born 1867,( b.hebburn) lived in 7 georges street, jarrow, and had 3 daughters, Sarah(1883), Lily(1887) and margaret(1891).rumour was that gran was orphan, but not true, so wondering if this meant John, sorry I have no other info on him at all, so any help would be greatly appreciated, have found every other branch of tree except his !!!!!
