Thanks Barbara,

I have thought it might be the Broadwoodwidger connection but I will see if I can find some birth certs... and I will follow the rest up too!

Hi,

Is there anyone out there that might know of a Sydney Martin (who is my great grandfather). He was born around 1880 (+/- 2)

He married Mabel Ellen WEST in 24/9/1904, Yealmpton, Devon (who I have a fair amount of info on). On the marriage cert it says he was born in Pomphlett (Plymouth) but I have my doubts as I can't find anything on any census info - and his farther is William Martin (Labourer) who I'm also looking for information on.

Sydney and Mabel had 7 children, called Mildred, Vida, Roy, Honour, Geraldine, Wilfred and Roma. He was a quarry man and also worked in a furniture shop in Yealpmton called Snawdens but I think this was later in life.

I believe he died around 1926 (possibly before the birth of Roma) of consumption so could well have been in a local hospice somewhere.

Any help appreciated :-)

Dani
