Yes i know but you still like to think that they did do it the conventional way !!! but to be honest from what i have found out about my family the last couple of days it wouldnt surprise me !!!!! |

From my (very limited) experience people did not follow the conventional get married then have children route even in the 1800's. |

still cant find him in 1881 census ! In the 1891 census he lived at 100 st thomas street in portsea. mary mayers married agian in 1898 to william guest. I found a recorf of a james young marrying a jane elizabeth ray in 1882 but cant get that verified as to whether it the same person but it was at portsea but some of his children were still born before that date |

i am trying to find out if james edgar young was married before he married mary mayers in 1886 as some of his children were born before he got married. he came from the portsea area born 1850 |
