Trying to find my Gradmothers ( Dorothy May Jones) birth Certificate I'm told she was born 16th Oct 1900 and died in 1984 at Bromsgrove, she married Edwin Noah Clayton in 1924 at Bromyard, Her dad was Charles Jones, her mum Nellie. I know nothing about her dad or mum so any info about these would be great.

her birth would be reg Dec qtr 1900 but the only one listed is for reg district Watford

What was her father's occupation? (From her marriage cert)

How old was she on her wedding day?

The DOB on the death cert can be wrong.......often is!

Muriel,Just a thought
If Charles & Nellie were married in the Bromyard district & so was Dorothy & Edwin, you could obviously be certain she was born around that area.
The only solution is to do a full Bmd search around the 1900 page for page.

I have already searched the full records for Dec qtr 1900 and only the Watford one was listed.,also searched 1898/9/01/02

The 1905 one came up on a blanket search for Bromyard on Freebmd

One of Dorothy Mays daughters is now saying that she was born in Walford or Wolford, Ross-on-wye, Herefordshire

I have now been given the following info on Dorothy May Jones

Jones Family
Hom Green
Walford
District of Ross
County of Hereford

But I still cannot find anything on Dorothy.
I am thinking that maybe she took her mothers maiden name, which I do not know
