Find Ancestors

I'm trying to find my Grandfather John Walker, born 1905 in Camberwell, London. He married Mary Ruddiman, born 1905 in Leeds Yorkshire. They married in 1927 in Camberwell, he was a bricklayer at the time, and moved to up to Leeds. They had two children Maud 1927, and John 1929, both were born in Leeds.
Sometime early in the 1930's, my Grandmother left John Walker and took the two children with her.
At the start of WW2 my Grandfather was in the Royal Artillery, and was posted to Singapore. He was then captured by the Japanese in 1942, he spent the rest of the war as a POW. My Grandmother always said that he was executed, but I have just recently learnt that he survived the war, and that he settled somewhere up in Yorkshire, I believe that he died sometime in the 1950's.
I'm not sure whether he had remarried, or had any other children after my Grandmother left him. Apart from what I have written, I know nothing about my Grandfather, and would like any information concerning him.

He couldn't re-marry - legally - unless your grandmother and he divorced.
