Trying to find possible decendants of John and Ellen Hughes who occupied this property during the 1901 census. John was from Anglesey and was a Carpenter/Joiner. I would like to confirm, whether or not, the John which appears in the 1901 census is in fact my great great uncle.

I know that my great great uncle moved to Liverpool before 1901, he was a carpenter and was born in Anglesey in 1871. He was still in Liverpool in th 1940s but I have no information about his address. I suspect that John may have re-married at some stage.

Any information regarding the occupancy of this property following the 1901 census would be useful.

I suggest that you see about consulting the electoral roll for the area.

Electoral rolls are available for many years except duing the war years (when they were not taken). They will show the names of adult voters living at an address.

They may be consulted at the main library of the area. You may find it possible to contact the librarians at that main library and see if they will do a search for you.

Good suggestion Sylvia - thanks for that.

I live quite a distance away from Liverpool. Is this information provided on-line?, I wonder.

Can anybody confirm, whether or not Rosalind Street as shown on the 1901 census is the present day Rosslyn Street.

Thanks Eric..... I have been looking without any luck.

I don't really fancy a trip to Liverpool library. I'll probably wait until the 1911 census becomes available.
