Hi,

I am trying to trace details of my grans birth mum, all i have is a name and address Alice Mary Hall of 8 Sheriff Road West Hampstead. My gran was born in Guys hospital in London on 30th October 1915. Her birth was registered in the Southwark district in the name of Constance Ellyat Hall. She was then adopted in 1920.

If anyone has any information or can help me with tips to locate records it would be very much appreciated.,

I live in hope.

Thanks Zoe

With a strange middle name like that I looked for marriages and found this. Maybe her father?

I dont suppose it gives Alices age on her daughters birth cert?

There are many Alice Mary Hall births registered that I cannot see how you would be able to find out which is yours. Did she go on to marry do you know? if so a marriage cert might give details of her father so you can look on the 1901 census. Also, as adoption wasn't formalised until 1927, could the person who adopted your nan be a family member or relative?

Hi, no my Gran was born in 1915 but not adopted until 1920, i think she was in a care home during this time. I have her adoption papers and she wasn't adopted out to family.
