Accurate info is always the place to start.

http://www.freebmd.org.uk

shows only one Harold A Bennett born 1918-1922.

Births Mar 1920
Bennett Harold A Richards Cardiff 11a 1153

Would that likely be him? (A registration in the first quarter of 1920 could have been a birth in late 1919.) Only the birth certificate would confirm the middle name. He might also have been registered without a middle initial.

Giving all the info you have is the next step.

Do you know whether he was married? Wife's name? Children's names, birthdates?

Siblings? Searching at FreeBMD for Bennett births with mother Richards, there are quite a lot, but no others in Cardiff.

Given that he would be in his late 80s if living, the odds are high that he is deceased. The index of deaths 1984-2005 that can be searched at Ancestry does not show a Harold A or Anthony Bennet born 1920 dying during that period. That index includes actual birthdates, so knowing his exact birthdate could identify his death or rule out a death during that period.

If you do have other info that could help locate him or identify him in records, do add it to the thread. (Click on the purple Reply button at the top to open the reply box.)

I am trying to locate Harold Anthony Bennett born around 1920. He lived in the Portsmouth area in the 1940s.
