Find Ancestors

The above couple were my great-great grandparents, and I know they married in 1865.

I'm trying to find out about children though. I know my great-grandfather Robert was born in Newark, Peterborough in 1878. There were other children but am unsure of names/dates of birth.

There was almost certainly a Walter, b1871 approx, and I think there was also Elizabeth (b1873 approx) and Alfred (b1875 approx).

Does anyone have information on this family please? Or can someone point me on where I can look free of charge?

There was another Edward Green in the area who was married to a Louisa, so I really want to make sure I get the right offspring.

Please would you mind telling me where you find such detailed information? I can't find any such information on the GR census searches, and I'm fairly certain I'm searching properly

If you're using a site other than GR, is a subscription site and would you say you find it value for money? I really need to be able to do more detailed searches I think.

Btw, I have asked for the duplicate threads to be removed. I was so excited at being given new information this morning by a distant cousin (most of which turns out to be wrong anyway!!!) that I got really carried away. Sorry about that.

I have managed to see a copy of Elizabeth's birth certificate and it shows her mother as Myrel Low.

So it's fairly certain that Mary Anne was Thomas's second (or third?) wife.

I'm not at all sure that the Thomas shown in the 1851 census details given above was the same man. Why is there no mention of Elizabeth? Myrel died in 1850, so Elizabeth could not have been with her mother?

Does anyone have any way of digging any deeper to help me out of this hole please?

(Hmmm, bit of a contradiction there - dig deeper to get out of hole - but I'm sure you understand what I mean!)
