this looks like his medal card on ancestry

Name: E R Davis
[Ernest Davis]
Regiment or Corps: 1st Grenadier Guards
Regimental number: 12582

Having looked at the image it is the same medal card used for Terratorial soldiers and he is a private, lots of men where in the TA when war broke out, then signed up as regulars

I think this is the same man the medal card is the normal index card and he is down as acting corporal

Name: Ernest Davis
[E R Davis]
Regiment or Corps: Grenadier Guards
Regimental number: 12582

same two cards for the national archives

Medal card of Davis, E R
Corps: 1st Grenadier Guards

Rank: Private
1914-1920 WO 372/5
Medal card of Davis, Ernest
Corps: Grenadier Guards

I am trying to find out any information on Ernest Reginald Davis, I know he was a sergant in the 1st world war, as I have a photograph of him and it says :
Grenadier Guards Jan 1917.
I am sorry but am not sure of his date of birth, and I think he was probarly born in the Gloucestershire area.
Thanks
