Attempting to find information regarding Violet Dunant Harrison born c 1880/81 in New Zealand.
Her father (Edmund Harrison b c 1828)was a much traveled man with many children from a variety of mothers in Victoria, (Bendigo, Fitzroy)Australia, and also I believe Violet in New Zealand.
Any information regarding Violet would be greatly appreciated.

Mike
Perth, Western Australia

I have early NZ records for weddings etc... there are a few different Violet Harrison's but none with the middle name Dunart.

What ever name you are looking for I should have some sort of record for ... eg. School, Wedding or death but I have nothing on that name

Hi Joanne
That is the correct name. Violet next appears from records sent to me today in the 1901 Census in Bournemouth, Hampshire, England aged 20...marked as Spinster and "in-law-visitor" of a George (Mormon/Newman??)indecipherable but giving birth-place as NZ., and she died in Cannes, France, April 1950
Edmund and unknown mother had 2 Children.. Violet and also a Constance Evelyn Harrison but she was born about 1886 in Victoria Australia.
As mentioned a much traveled man with many children
Any assistance on the New Zealand Violet would be of a great help.
Thanks for the reply
Mike

when I was at the library today I also did a check in the NZ birth records on microfiche & there were no records for Violet Dunart Harrison & I checked from 1870 - 1890 just to be sure.
Perhaps they never registered her birth.

Constance Evelyn Harrison was my paternal grandmother. She died in 1959 in London. Violet would appear to be my Father''s Aunt (although "Dunart" is new to me) - and he went to Cannes in 1952 to deal with her death/estate/will etc. Edmund was born in 1829 in West Hackney (East London) son of George Berkley Harrison (b. 1795) who was a wine merchant. In 1851 they were living in Gloucester Gardens , Paddingon, London. Violet and Constance had a brother named George who went to San Francisco just in time to be "lost" during the 1906 earthquake. In the 1891 Census (London) Edmund and Violet (and a "daur" which must be Constance) are shown lodging at 12 Gloucester Crescent, Paddington, London. This appears to be a boarding house.

My Dad is the only one remaining and I'm afraid he has alzheimer's.

I saw a silver photo frame at home recently with the intials V?H and will have a closer look to see if the ? is a D
