To find out who registered the death, you will have to purchase the cert

Have you looked on freebmd for a birth reg'n? Was Watson her maiden name?

Ericthered

Ericthered Report 28 Jan 2009 10:57

If this is the death to which you refer, she must have reverted to her previous name....and only been 16 when she married

Name: Fuchsia Watson

Death Registration Month/Year: Feb 1996
Age at death (estimated): 86
Registration district: South Cheshire

I know she was Watson when she married Cheetham, but do you have the marriage cert?

I ask because there is no birth registration for the name Fuchsia Watson on freebmd

It might pay you to check a bit more..................

You could buy your grand parents marriage certificate and see if Leslie has listed himself as a widower or as divorced.
It should also give you their ages and fathers name.

No Birth reg? thats odd isnt it?..i think i will buy certs just to check..and to see if he is down as divorced..my dad destroyed all the papers and things after my grandads death which im annoyed about as it makes it harder for me i know he didnt want me to trace them i now know why and im plzd i never knew my grandfather well at all..but its his siblings and first wife and the fact i keep coming to a dead end that makes me more curious..so i will buy certs see where that takes me and untill then i will keep seeing what i come up with on here

1911 census site:

http://www.1911census.co.uk/

This is how it is spelt on there:

WATSON FUCHIA F 1910 1 Congleton Cheshire

I think it is about £7 for 60 credits - you can view household transcription for 10 or actual page for 30

Have a look on the Tips board for how to view a household for free on the 1911 - you won't get all the details but you can see who else lived at the address and their ages.

And if you are looking for births, marriages and deaths from 1837 to 1930, don't buy credits on here, use freebmd - http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

As it says it is completely free to use and is updated with new info regularly
