hi everyone thankyou so much for all your help i phoned my mum and relayed all the info to her and she said that my dads brother was called marcus straffendondale and his sister is patricia majorie and my dad was francis cecil henry so we have all harrys siblings names in josephs children i will buy the marrage cert and birth certs as i think that has got to be the right harry walker. in case your interested my dad francis had nine kids two boys and seven girls one of the boys had a son who has a career in the army and does not look like a family is on the cards. the other brother has two girls . uncle marcus had one girl and died in his forties. so it looks like this side of the family will die out. such a shame after all this hard work tracing them once again thankyou i shall have lots of fun tracingthem back. |

Must say I have not seen on the 1911 census the references to where they were living written like that, there is an address where the family were living on the left-hand side near the bottom of the page normally., where they were born would be on the 8th column on the page, next to the 'Report Error' |

There is a Harry Myers Walker birth registered Huddersfield Oct/Dec.18759a 337 . Now not sure if this is 'your' Harry Walker but he is the only Harry M. Walker I can find listed around that time. |

Now you are armed with the previous information I would not take too much notice of the Bath, Somerset places of birth as you already know your grandfather was birth registered in the Bristol reg. dist (and that covers more of the central area of Bristol than Bath!) also on the previous census i.e.1901 looks like Harry was born Bredbury, Cheshire, 1911 he appears as Bath Somerset!!. Needs checking out on earlier census records. |

Do you know if your grandfather had any brothers or sisters?if you do then maybe you could look for them on the 1901 census, providing of course they were born before 1901, difficult when they obviously moved from one County to another as your grandfather was born in the Bristol reg. district (sub-district of Westbury-on-Trym) |

If you have your great grandfather's marriage cert. if would at least give his age and his occupation at marriage together with address at marriage and his father's name and occupation which is a great help in finding Harry as a child with his parents. Unless of course who already know how old your great grandfather was when he married. Harry Walker is probably a very common name so this other info. might help in tracking him down. |
