This is the only death that looks like a possible to me (although the birth year is out a couple of years, but that's not uncommon) - different registration district from where she was living though:-

Wow, thank you - yes, everything you seem to have found fits! Can you see any sign of Mary Bebbington in later censuses or of her death.

What id strange is that there is a Joseph Bebbington aged 51 in 1900 (born c. 1848) who killed himself by hanging himself from a meat hook in his kitchen. I wonder if this is the one and same Joseph.

Very sad and dramatic family!

In the 1851 census Elizabeth is a visitor and George is a servant.

Mary's birthplace says Waenbury (?). That is what it is transcribed as anyway - but I can't find a place called this in Cheshire on a modern map. I think it is probably Wrenbury.

Dear all,

I am looking for information on the census of Joseph and Mary Bebbington.

Mary is my relation and she was born Mary Brett in 1802 in Wrenbury, Cheshire.

She married Joseph Bebbington in 1828 in Nantwich, Cheshire.

Can anyone see her and husband/family in later censuses? I descend from Mary's brother Thomas Brett, who tried to commit sucidie in 1883, and when it was brought to court it was revealed that Thomas Brett had tried to frame his nephew James Bebbington, for murder. James Bebbington wrote to the court, and his address for April 1883 in Colley Lane, Nantwich, Cheshire.

This is all the info I have - I can not find Mary or her husband in the 1881 census.
