Hi Ann, thanks for the reply. My GG was born Thomas Hall in Stretton-on-Fosse Warks in 1847, I don't know the exact date. He emigrated to Santa Rosa, California in 1910/11 with his then wife Ellen and five or six of his children. He must have died between 1913 and 1920, he does not appear on the 1920 US census.
