I'm trying to find out some information on my Great Grandmother Mary Cook and her family before her. She was born on the 25th February 1885 in Lochend Street which i think is in Campbeltown? She was the daughter of Peter Cook and Jane Spratt and had 9 siblings all together!
I know that Jane Spratts' parents were Thomas Spratt and Isabella Gillies, but don't know any dates with them.

and if you go to scotlands people you will find mary's birth in 1885, which also gives peter and jane's marriage as being on the 16th July 1879, in Glasgow. If you find that marriage record, you can then order the cert which will hopefully, give you Peter and janes parents details. So, the marriage in 1879 gives peter's parents as Hugh Cook, brewers labourer, and Margaret Cook nee Thomson, and Jane's parents as you have them. They are both 22 years old. The record no is 644/03 0292 if you want to order it, and it took place in Dennistoun, Glasgow.
