David

David Report 27 Feb 2009 15:15

My Great Grandmother was Johanna Harris born 1855 in Swansea. I have just received her marriage certificate to Thomas Hopkins; Jan Feb Mar; 1874; Swansea; Vol 11a; Page 291.

This clearly gives her Father as James Harris a 'Sailor'. This is where my problems begin. He seems never to appear in census returns, presumably he was away at sea.

Does anyone out there have any ideas as to how I might trace him and his family?

Please help,

David
