Gilfach is the small district that lies between Bargoed and Pengam, situated in the Caerphilly county borough, 7 miles north of Caerphilly, within the historic boundaries of Glamorgan, Wales.

The name Gilfach is derived from the Welsh words cil (nook) and bach (small).

Gelligaer is a village and parish in the County Borough of Caerphilly, Wales, in the Rhymney River valley. The parish also includes the villages of Cefn Hengoed and Hengoed to the south.

i am trying to trace my wifes family.father thomas idwal davies b 10/02/1908 in gilfach.sub district gelligaer.county of glamorgan.his father david davies.mother elizabeth davies formerly bevan.lived in mountain ash cottage gilfach.can anyone help me trace back any further please.
