On this site, enter Lizzie Ward, born 1875, Scotland.

This site has McCann for the Canns, so you should be able to find them by using any of the names.

Did Mary every live in London? On the 1911 when I put in Carlisle as residence, only this one is coming up:

HOUSEHOLD WARD MARY F 1896 15 St Marylebone London

If I leave residence empty, 6 pages of Mary Wards are coming up, which makes me suspect that the one above was born in Carlisle.

The marriages in my last post are from freeBMD. They show the four names that are on the same page of the marriage register. Either man could have married either woman. That's why I said that Mary's marriage cert might confirm that her father was Joseph Ward and that he might have married Elizabeth McCann. Again, the only way to be sure is to buy his marriage cert.

You could try to find the family on the 1911 census.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ballard James Carlisle 10b 780
McCann Elizabeth Carlisle 10b 780
Robinson Margaret Carlisle 10b 780

The only way to see the details is to buy the cert. You cannot view it anywhere. It will cost £7 to buy it online from the GRO.
