Hi i have been looking for a james ward for what seems like a life time, i have found him on the 1911 census, married to a selina, the childrens names are there, philip and albert, the other children arnt on there so i am assuming they have got married, although on the census they have said that they have been married for 21 years i cannot find any record of a james ward and a selina elsmore getting married, selina had been married before to a william owen, i have found that marriage selina married william in 1884, but if james and selina had been married 21 years in 1911 that means they would of got marred in 1890, i cannot find any record of this so i have come to the conclusion that they did not really marry, i tried to find a death of james ward but to no avail, he was born in newcastle under lyme in 1869. This man is a complete mystery to me, it is driving me mad, any tips or advice would be very appriciated as to where i can go from here selinas eldest child was also called selina, i belive she was from her first marrriage to william, the other kids where philip born in 1904, ( he was my grandad) there was albert, elsie, richard and lilly, i can seem to trace them up to 1911 but , as i said i cannot find a marriage for james and selina and i cannot find any record of death |

Well - they were certainly telling 'porkies' somewhere as they were not married when 'little' Selina was born as it looks like she was born an 'Owen'?? |

Here's that 1893 marriage. There's an awful lot of Selinas around. |
