Mary Thomas was Minnie's aunt but I was trying to establish if she was from her mothers side or fathers and I believe that Ada and Mabel Pearson were cousins of hers.

Minnie got married to Thomas Rogers Evans (born 1865 in Liverpool but was bought up in Anglesey, north Wales). I know Minnie and Thomas had their first child in 1900 Emyr who only lived a few months, they then had 3 others one being my grandfather, however I have not managed to find a record of their marriage so can only assume it was between 1890 and 1900.

I kind of hoped that immigration records might give more detail on the person!

I assume that Minnie married. If so have you located a marriage reference and ordered her marriage certificate.

This would provide her father's name

Hi Victoria,

This looks like her, but she is not in Liverpool: 1891 census

Brynthedin, Blena Pae,Llanwnda, Bontnewyd, Carnarvonshire.

Lillie Williams neice 15 scholar born Glasgow
Mary Williams neice 13 scholar born Cheshire
Mabel Pearson neice 11 scholar born Shangai

Roger Elliott nephew 3 born Liverpool

There are a couple of servants in the household also.

Hi
My great grandmother came over from Shanghai at the age of 17. She was called Minnie Nelson and was born in 1873 in Shanghai, China and I beleive she came over in 1890 to Liverpool. I have no idea who her parents were or if she came over with any relatives. I would be interested to see if there was a May.Maise Rogers or May/Maise Pearson or May/Maise Evans on the same ship.
If anyonne knows how I can look into this I would be very greatful
