Hello,
two things for you: I have joined the Paice group on facebook and met some great, helpful people - so helpful that I have been given 3 gedcoms containing 17,000 Paices!
For where Thomas was after his parents died you could try the London Metropolitan Archives who have records from childrens' homes eg my mum was born in Hoxton and put( by the Poor Law Guardians of Shoreditch) into their purpose built home in Hornchurch. http://www.katyc112.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/index.htm

Looking for information on Thomas Paice.
He was my grandfather and as far as I can find out was born in Bermondsey, London in 1891. If my findings are correct, he was registered in the 1891 census as living at 47 Ambrose St. with his parents and older brother and sister. As far as I am aware 2 other children came later.
His mother died when the children were still young and they were put into some kind of home (no info on where this was). He left and joined the army, meeting my grandmother Margaret Geoghegan in Dublin, before moving to Glasgow and marrying in April 1914.
Would be very greatful of any help I could have on this
