	I guess the way to do it, if you knew the siblings birth years would be to look for all of them with those first names and try to match up the mothers maiden name given. OR, contact the records office local to the event and buy the cert for Grandad IF you are sure that is his birth date. OH Bless, looks like Minnie and June have already done the matching exercise :)

	Paul, do please read the Absolute Basics thread to help you get started. Ill bump it up for you. First thing, you have grandads birth date, hopefully its correct - you can look up his ref on freebmd.org and as its post 1911 it should give mothers maiden name. It would be worth buying the cert for £7 to start your genealogy records. You can read how to buy certs and where on the Absolute Basics thread.

	neither Wirral,or Merseyside.existed in 1917b- do you knw where they were actually born/lived/grew up?? who had 3 bro & two sisters? him or his father? what was his mothers name and do you know her maiden name?

Member Since: July 2003 Posts: 2 Send Message	I am trying to find any information on my grandfathers side, and I realise this is quite a common surname. My grandfather was William Jones, 11/02/1917, in Wirral, Merseyside. As far as I know he lived on Warwick Street, Birkenhead. His father was Sammuel Jones, and had 3 brothers called Sammuel, Johnny and David. And 2 sisters Annie and Emma. Sadly I dont have any DOB's for these people. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
