Thanks for the replies entered, none of them unmfortunately are of any help I`m afraid.
Mitchell being such a common name and not knowing anything about the John Mitchell I am searching, there is no way I can tell if I have the correct man, only if he had a daughter named Blanche Elain, if indeed that was her real name!
I think I will have to give up the search for Blanche it seems to be a hopeless quest I fear I will never find anything about her
I`ve searched for so many years now without any success.

Do you know if John Mitchell died in WW1?
There is a John Gray Mitchell born Blackfriars Lanarkshire who died 20/7/1916. He was a Sergeant on the Cameronians 5th Batt Number 200025. Residence shown as Glasgow

Blanche Eileen Mitchell married Arthur Jarvis 1913 Mar Q Medway Kent

There is a marriage 1921 in Bridgend Glamorgan for a Blanche Jarvis but the transcription shows only one groom between 2 brides -the record shows she married someone called Pride -but without locating her date and location of birth theres now way of knowing if this could be her ( a marriage in Medway isnt much help as it was a district which included Army and Navy barracks so the pareticipants were not necessarily local)

Seeking anyone who has information about Blanche Eileen Jarvis nee MITCHELL
She stated her father was John Mitchell a Sgt Major in the
Cameron Highlanders. Unable to trace her after 1920
when she was divorced by her husband Arthur Jarvis
Would be grateful for any information about her movements
or her death when or where. Can you help?
