Sorry I have not been back to you, the info you have given me I have manged to get already, it's Emma's parents George Henry Martin and Matilda Orr where I have come unstuck, and cannot get further back with. thank you for your help. Beth

I have found Emma Martin's husbands WW1 pension records, his name was Thomas Waller born in 1865, hertford.

Apparently Emma and Thomas married in India, he was in the Light Dragoons.

There are 3 younger children listed in the 1911 census with them, and then there is Rhoda Waller born 1897, who is stated as daughter.

The 3 younger children are on the pension records but not Rhoda... was she Emmas prior to her marriage???

If you check the 1911 census Matilda is there living with Emma Waller (daughter), Matilda is born in 1845.

They are living in Norfolk, Depwade.

She was also born in India.

Hang on, are we missing a bit here? Is your gt grandfather's name Henry George, or Henry George ??. As you later say, you don't where in England either George or Matilda come from, is George his second name or his surname?

The info I have on my Gt Grandfather, Henry George, born 17/03/1830, he was a Serg. in Light Dragoons. Bengal Army, married in 1871 in India to Matilda Orr B 1844. d. 1913 in England. Had a daughter Emma b.1875 in India ( my grandmother) and a son Francis born 1878 in Hastings d, circa1918. I cannot find out where in England either George or Matilda came from re:- birth cert. Or why Francis was born in Hastings? did he have a family? is that where they set up home on there return from India!! Would be grateful for anyones help and advise. Thank you. Beth
