Find Ancestors

Trying with great difficullty to find a birth for her. According to Death cert she was bn 3rd may 1887 South Sheilds but have been unable to find info. Has any 1 any ideas where i look next ?

I'm suspecting, of course, that Annie wasn't married, and it might be that

- Barnett was the surname of the children's father
- Barnett was her surname but Rose was registered under her father's surname

It's always possible she was registered as one name and called by another -- although Annie seems to have liked her flowers.

I checked the image for this one:

and it does say Ruth - but I wonder whether there could have been a mistranscription somewhere along the line?

That Ruth isn't in the 1891 census (the one shown as 3 mo. was indeed born in 1891) and there is no death record for her up to 1891.


I would order the RUTH BURNETT birth certificate to see what it says.

thank you EvieBeavie for looking i have death cert and marriage cert sorry i wasn't expecting any 1 to answer so quickly. Have all info from census, on marriage cert it says her father was William Burnett ( deceased ) my cousin has been able to futher back but finding a birth cert would be nice she was 24 when she married in 1912.

will send for Ruth's birth cert fingers crossed it her many thanks for all who looked for info.
