Find Ancestors

Grandad Robert John Jones, Died 1st Q 1955. Married Gwendoline Mary Hardy 2nd Q 1929 Croydon Surrey. Thats the easy bit...

Cant find trace of his birth but will fill in what I have been told. Born 29th December 1899 ??? Was told he grew up in Fulham (most likely) Not sure of his birth place. I have always presumed it was London or Middlesex. His fathers occupation is a PRINTER as on marriage certificate. I have no other detail.

Except for a tit bit of info from my late grandmother Gwendoline. She always said the Jones family had a double barrel name and for some reason Grandad dropped it and kept the JONES...The other name was Cunard or Kinnaird or something like that. Maybe it could have been a maiden name of another family member, I have no idea if this is true. Personally I think its not true but added just in case. Hope someone can help my out here. I did a search on 1911 census for:-
Surname Jones
Occupation: Printer
Living: Fulham

and three came up

HOUSEHOLD JONES CHARLES VICTOR M 1896 15 Fulham London
HOUSEHOLD JONES FRANCES CHARLES EDWIN M 1892 19 Fulham London

HOUSEHOLD JONES HENRY M 1857 54 Fulham London

One old enough to be father ?

may not have anything at all to do with your research of course, but at this stage................!

Found this couple on 1881 census, and he is a Physician and she is noted as the Honorable Frederica G. Jones, so looks as though she was of rank.

Age 29 on the birth certificate. So he could possibly have been born Dec 1900 not 1899

I think Susan means marriage not birth cert.

Susan, is his father's name not on the marriage cert? His occupation is - odd that his name isn't.
