Moody Blue Report 28 Jun 2009 21:48

What certificate for Elvina are you saying is not available? You have already received her birth certificate so I am not following you!

Did you try looking at any nursing records whilst you were there at Kew?

Hi guys!!

I am SO SORRY i have not been on here in ages! hectic is not the word!!

OK so story so far-

I went to Kew to view the RNR records for Stanley as they did not have the information for me....

and guess what?? THERE WERE NO RECORDS of him :\ How strange....

but wait......

When i ordered Elvina's cert.... I had paid and was awaiting it to arrive, I got an e-mail....

THE CERT I HAD ORDERED IS NOT LISTED/IS NOT AVAILABLE.....

Stranger still...

So I am still no where closer than i was 3 weeks ago, and I'm not getting disheartened as all of the work ALL of you guys have done for me, all of those longs hours i have spent scouring sites etc and I STILL Cannot solve this puzzle......?!?!?!?

If anybody has any suggestions as to where/what i should do/go to next IT WOULD BE GREATLY WELCOMED!!

As at the moment I am up against a yucky blank wall and dont much like the colour!! ;)

Thank you all- & I will not stay away this long again i promise!!

(Sorry Viv & Rose )

Love

Here.

http://dundee-a.1911census.co.uk

Or here

Find my past.

It will tell you where they were born and occupations and address on trancript.

But on image it will tell you how many children born and still living and how long married.
And of course it is in their own handwriting.
the image may be in welsh, english or a mixture of both.

I have the advantage of being able to understand welsh,so no probs for me.

So the rest of you that cant can ,,go weep,,

FannyByGaslight Report 9 Jun 2009 22:56

That costs nothing, its a magic trick!
You wave your wand and they appear.
Cant do it with jones or smith though, too many come up.

You will have to buy credits to look at the transcript etc as this only gives the area they live and ages as you see.

Oh! thanks viv!! i didn't know it was out!!

How much did the search cost you viv? as i will reimburse you or buy you a credit to use!!

what more can the 1911 tell me? and what site is open to use?

Thanks

Beginning of thread suggested that she was born in Cheltenham? Then this place of birth is not incorrect.

Toddington Cheltenham, Gloucestershire (is not far from Winchcombe)

From: Winchcombe, Gloucestershire
To: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Distance: 7.6 miles

also

Details are only as correct as the information given by the person registering the death.

Ann-Marie

Ann-Marie Report 4 Jun 2009 21:19

Ah- thats a point!! :) didn't think of that!! as her place of birth doesn't match, i thought though for death certs details had to be correct?? Isn't it a legal document?

But why use a dif bday? thats a bit weird....

It could be pat getting it wrong again- but it was a day that she always celebrated but again this is according to pat- she had it written on her calendar.

I dunno bunch of wollys this lot eh? cant even get a name or DOB right!!

Pat reckons she has a marriage lines somewhere, I have urged her to find it as a matter of importance but she seems to be quiet closed about it all, like she doesn't want me to dig? as there are wedding photos....

Thanks

Elvina Evon/Yvonne May wasn't the one who made herself younger..........it was whoever registered the death (Patricia) and just maybe they got it wrong.

Royal Navy Reserves (RNR) Which means due to his post (musician) he was on a school boy pay, and was not needed all the time0 he did not sign up for any service time. There has never been any mention of Stan being in the army-

but i think that because he was hardly a 'war hero' that might be why? i dont know.

Rose- I know what you chedmean- at least with Stan the day & month matched. It looks too suspect, I have found a website for Colwyn bay and I'm talking to people there. as it was not that long ago, people are still alive

I'll see what comes of that. I also want to see if any of the people (bros and sisters) are still alive? as they would know wouldn't they.

So that is where I am searching now- and awaiting for Navy records to come back.... I'll update info as i find it.

Thanks guys!!
