I am still trying to get a lead on Victor Maughan Hall born 1904 and baptised at St Peters Newbrough. His parents were John Joseph and Daisy Jane Hall nee Maughan. I have found him on the 1911 census but it has that he was adopted by a George and Jane A Kirkby from Erlington Station. I found a death of a Victor Maughan Hall at Hampshire in 1994. I have no idea what happened to his parents or 2 sisters and brother who were alive in 1901. If there is anyone who knows the name I would really like to hear from them. Bev |

Are you 100% sure that the Victor Hall with the Kirkby family in 1911 is your Victor ?? |

Many thanks for replying to my request regarding Victor Hall and john Hall, I apologise for not replying sooner, but I thought Genes Reunited notified subscribers when a reply had been sent, I have just found out this is not so. I have the Immigration list of John Joseph Hall and family, Victor's name was on it, but it had been crossed off. He was with them again in 1916, I will keep digging and I will have alook at that marriage in Sept 1929, and perhaps send for the certificate. |

I am finally getting back int research, and will add what I have found. victor Maughan hall di not go to Canada with his parents, I don't know the reason, but he was "adopted by ppeople in Erington, Northumberland. I know he did go to Canada at sometime, as he was on the 1916 Census, perhaps he went for his mother's funeral in 1913 and stayed a few years? just a thought. However he did return to England and married a Nancy rogers. I am not sure if the births I have found are his childrened, but I did find 4 Halls, with mother's maiden name as Rogers being registered in Northumberland from 1940 to 1948. I do know he died in Hampshire in 1999 as I purchased his death registration. Bev |
