Was it your Grandad or his father that changed his name to Poole? How do you know this?

Cabinet maker ( journeyman ) and the address was 27 Stracey Street Bristol as the residence but my Grandad was born at 30 Stracey Street which may have been the local midwife.

What occupation did it have for Frederick Snr on the birth certificate and what was the address on the birth cert?

Linda

Linda Report 9 May 2009 19:17

My Grandfathers name according to his birth cert. 1904. Same name as his Father. Mother listed as Kate Cook formerly Loft of Stracey Street Bristol. Christening record 6months later shows a Kate Loft as only person attending. Can't trace any of my Grandads family. His name changed to Poole by the time he joined the army around 1919. This side of my family is a huge mystery and was never spoken of. Even up until her death my Mother wanted to find out about her Father and his family. I would like to do so in memory of her. If anyone can help I'd be grateful
