Trying to trace death of Grandfather Walter Robins

thanks all for the replies

Walter was born in Stansted Abbotts (near Ware) hertfordshire 1883

I have looked on BDM and have found no trace. I can find his birth and residence upto 1901 and marriage 1902. On the 1911 cencus, I believe I have found him listed as being in and Institution in Romford. My father was born 1914 in Romford.

All the Robinsons for WW1 deaths are not the right age or address or have the same wife. I think I have exhausted all avenues.
On Rose second marriage in 1918 she is listed as a spinster?

Im afraid I never put in any searching effort nowdays unless some feedback is received. Sometimes it can be a waste of an hours work when people never come back to a thread :(

Hopefully, this wont be the case with this one.

We certainly are :-) I know my Mum was a Robinson !! its neally as bad as looking for Smith, Brown ,Green etc. ---but we can but TRY to help. but without feedback, we don't know if its the right path we are going down --

Could it be he may have died in ww1. There are an enormous number of W Robinsons and Walter Robinsons with no other identifying details.But as you say Barbara, with no feedback we are clutching at straws!!!!!!!!!

You could find the above info yourself free on freebmd.org. You can order the certificates using the references given for £7 each from GRO online.

Has this "cut short" and should it be ROBINSON ?

So a time frame of 1911-1918 - have you looked on freebmd? What year was he born? Have you Rosas second marriage cert saying she is a widow?
