Denbeigh or wrexham, my nain was adopted in 1908 and I am trying to trace records of her birth mother but keep coming to a dead end. Thought I might find information in workhouse records if she went there

Bethan, please don't keep starting threads about the same thing in which you don't even give any info anyone could use to help you.

In this thread,

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.asp?wci=thread&tk=1156411

you were given a link to a workhouse site that you can use to find what records are still available.

To find your threads, click on My Threads over on the left side.
To reply in a thread, click the purple Reply button at the top and a box will open.

If you want help in this thread, you need to start with your nan's name and her mother's name.

She was born in a workhouse? That could just have been the healthcare facility where her mother went for the delivery -- many workhouses had hospitals of sorts.

Any info you have, offer it up and people will try to help.

This is what is available for Wrexham

Denbighshire Record Office, Ruthin. Few records survive — holdings include: Register of inmates (1892-1930); Admissions and discharges (1890-1920); Births and deaths register (1886-1914); Maternity register (1912-30); Ledgers and accounts (1837-1929); etc.

Bethan Sioned Today at 21:31 Request review

I am looking for some information on a Mary Ellen Edwards who was a servant and lived in north Wales. She had a daughter Gwen born in May 1908, Gwen may have been a twin and was adopted by Edward Edwards and Mary Jane Edwards.
Gwen was born in Denbeigh and moved to the Wrexham area with her adopted parents.

There is no other edwards birth on the same page,so unless a twin was born before 12 midnight the day before ,it does not seem to be a twin birth.

Maybe the discussion can shift there now ... since it's the only one that has actual info in it.

I guess I'll volunteer to send the My Threads / Reply instructions ...
