need to trace births and marriage or other children.
I only have daughter Rose Ann Burns (age 17) marriage cert 15th Dec 1871, Carlisle. to William Merrick (age 20)
showing her Father as Hugh Burns (Equestrian) deceased.
Hugh Burns was Circus Equestrian or Travelling showman.
Cant find Rose Ann birth cert? (born Liverpool??) and on her death cert the fathers name is John Burns?
Found her mothers death in poorhouse in Glasgow as a Hawker.
and no information on death cert.
Cant find rose's parents marriage cert

Dean, hve you tried concentrating on Scotland? Burns is (obviously) a Scottish name, you say her mother died in Glasgow, And Carlisle isn't too far away! Maybe Rose was born north of the border.

That 1871 census from Glitter Baby looks promising.

Family look likely to be members of a circus.

Roseann obviously died in Scotland as both her parents are mentioned on the death certificate.

William Merrick left his fathers jewellers shop in London to join a circus as a musician. He must have met Roseann who was an acrobat and her father an equestrian. William Merrick married Roseann in Carlisle.
GLITTER BABY is there another page to the Bathgate census for William Merrick? It must have been a whirlwind romance to marry in Dec 1871
