John, nor quite sure from this if you know any of their children's names? If so a birth cert would be better as it will gives both parents' names. |

is this them in 1881 - is so one of the children's birth certs will give Elizabeth's maiden name which may help looking for the marriage |

spellings often varied on certificates as it often depended on the clerk to spell it and each different clerk may have thought of it differently - frequently both parents were illiterate so would not know the difference |
