Find Ancestors

Thanks rootgatherer and Julie.........Before Else married the elusive Johnston Lawrence in 1953 she married William Meech in 1937.....can only presume William was killed WW2.....hoping to find a child from that marriage, and relatives of Johnston Lawrence, for any family information about Elsie.
Elsie was part of the first Stoker family, which my clever Grandfather John George Stoker managed to maintain with a large overlap, with the second Stoker family, without either family realising another existed. .........We are hoping that relatives might have family information..........will try to look through the Scottish records for 1907........GR does not seem to have any treeholders of this line at all.

There is not a marriage for a Johnston M Lawrence in 1975, so hopefully that was just a typing error.

John George Stoker was Elsie's father.

So, if the marriage was in 1953 and he was 46yrs old, then his birth was about 1907.
There is no birth registration for a Johnston (M) Lawrence at that time.

Could he have been born elsewhere ?
Like Scotland ..?

There is also no record of him on the 1911 census, nor his father.

Am I missing something here?

The marriage Julie posted for Johnston and Elsie took place in 1953. So what relationship is Johnston (married in 1975) to Johnston and Elsie (married 1953)? He can't be their son as his father is Graham.

Sorry, I'm lost here. Perhaps I need some lunch to get the brain going.

Did Johnston and Elsie have children? Is it their children you are looking for or children from Elsie's first marriage?

Thanks for all the info....have been waiting for the marriage cert of Elsie Meech (nee Stoker) to JOHNSTON McDONALD LAWRENCE...to get an idea of his age......but even with the information cannot find any info on him or his family. The marriage cert shows that he is much younger than originally thought,

Gosh, thanks for that info...I never supposed that Elsie might have married twice, will try and find some Meech offspring. Wonder whether Mr. Meech died in WW2......that was great help.....thanks again

Hello Quinsgran.....thanks for the 1911 census infrmation. Johnston Lawrence must have been considerably older than Elsie who was brn 1911.......wish i could find some chidren for Johnson and Esie......

Could not find children of either marriage

Looking for family of Johnston Lawrence, Bricklayer, who married Elsie Stoker....she was born 22.11.1911 died 8.2.1886 in Aylesbury....lived at 15 Hilton Avenue, prior to that 34 Belgrave Road. Looking for descendants quite urgently, half sister of Elsie still alive, hoping to make contact with possible nephews and nieces. Elsie Stoker is daughter of John George Stoker 1882 and Elsie Long 1887, married Colchester 1907. John George is my grandfather.
Any info would be appreciated...just stuck on where to look next.
