John Hill

I amtrying to find my great great grandfather John Hill. All I know is that he is named on his sons marriage certificate in 1876 , it would appear his address was 8 albert road that is if his son james was still at home at the time of the marriage. The wedding took place at the parish church islington his son wasd james hill ,he married a caroline ridgewell on the 2nd october in 1876. Does anyone know if the parish records may give me any other clues as to John ? any help would be appreciated
