I have new information about my great grandfather William Henry Davies. He was born around 1856 in BIRMINGHAM and not in S. Wales as I previously thought.. I would like to have more information about his parents William Davies born in 1828 and Mary Ann whose maiden name may have been Edwards. (born in 1828 too). Also WHEN did William Henry Davies marry Alice Sarah Biggins born in Holborn in 1856 ? Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks. Elizabeth

So do you have them on census to know when their first child was born?
If so can you tell us which census and when the first child was born?

You've looked at FreeBMD?

There's no William Davies + Alice Biggins marriage.

So we don't know either!

You could try various permutations and combinations for searching -- middle names, surname fragments with the *, narrowed to certain years. But it may be they just weren't married.

As Viv says: when was first child born? Can you identify any children's births at FreeBMD? Is that how you have the Biggins surname - from a child's birth certificate? If not, can you explain how you know it?

And anything else you know! ;)

My reading of the actual image for 1891 (with the magnifier) is that Alice S Davies was born United States - "American" is written above the St Andrews entry so was the marriage if there was one in the US
Have the children been traced 1901?
I found a Maud and Ethel Mabel of the right age classed as siters in law to a Walter James Stewardson bit his wife Emma Mary seem at 33 too old to be William Henrys daughter

Gillian.
If you go to this thread number it will give what has already been done on this family.

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.asp?wci=thread&tk=1108010

No marriage was found then ,or now ,so maybe they didnt marry legally or as you say now ,and I said on the other thread they may have married abroad.
