I am trying to find out what happened to Walter Beaven Ward b1858, s/o Alfred Ward and Esther Beaven, Wilts. He md. Harriette Fry in 1880, they had 5 children. Walter had disappeared without trace by 1891. In 1881 they lived at Hunters Hall Farm, Marshfield, Gloucs. |

Yes, this is his family, I haven't found a recorded death. Possibilities are that he emigrated, but not having much luck there or he changed his name. |

Have you found his wife on the l90l census - this might say if she was a widow. If you can find a marriage cert. for any of the children, it may say father deceased on there. I had a similar problem, my ancestor stated she was a widow, and married again, but her first husband was still alive. Perhaps he had left the family and did not fill in the census. |

Walter's wife is not on the 1901 census, her children are, we now believe he went abroad ahead of the family and his wife went to him because he was ill and he died while she was there, She is on the 1911 as a widow. I have found in other cases that the census states, husband in America. but not in this instance. |
