It looks as though this lady had 4 "nurse children" so must have been a professional foster parent, so to speak. I can't find birth for an Ernest Clarke or Clark in Uxbridge sadly. Can't help feeling you might not manage to find him, his name is just too common unfortunately.
Not sure why you might think everyone would know where Kensal Rise is! Londoners eh!!

Sorry I thought everyone knew where Kensal Rise was! Sorry it's London and it used to be N.W.10 now it's Brent. But all the youngsters have different places of birth on the census. Also it says the head of the family is a foster mother and I presume a nurse child is one in her care?

I can't figure out the registration district for kensal rise at that time - Brent came about much later. Any idea anyone?

EDIT - Uxbridge I think!

Can someone help me find the birth of Ernest Clarke please. We were told he was ilegitimate but not sure. I've estimated his birth 1895 and he died 22 July 1962 aged 67. I found an Ernest Clarke on the census aged 7 from Kensal Rise and it looks like Emily Freeman is a foster mother. I have his marriage certificate in 1913. His fathers name is on there as Ernest Clarke. Will I ever find out where he was born? I have written to the company he worked for hoping they may have a birth date for him.
