What information are you trying to retrieve. Do you have an approximate date of emigration to Australia. Did Annie go to NSW as well, and was she married in Yorks or Aust.

Joseph there are a number of deaths for Edmund Davis in NSW. What were his parents names? Does he have a middle name?

From Joseph

Julie,
Annie and Edmund Davis were cousins of my mother, Elisa Whorton nee Tissington.
After emigrating to NSW Annie married Bert Green and they .had a business in Wollongong .With their two sons they visited us in Yorkshire in 1937/38.
In the 60s their grandson,Malcolm with his bride Lyn visited us but since the death of Annie and my mother cotact has been lost.
I am trying to renew contact with Malcolm or his family.

Does seem that DAVIES is correct, Julie...

I think this must be his WWI enlistment?

Davies Edmund : SERN DEPOT 87848 : POB Yorkshire England : POE Sydney NSW : NOK F Davies Henry

He enlisted in April 1917 aged 20 yrs 6 months (b. 25 Oct 1897), 5' 7", 130lbs and occupation paymaster. According to this his parents were also in NSW (in Delwood Park, Granville). His father must have been illiterate as he placed his mark on consent papers, mother Emma has signed.

See http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/recordsearch/index.aspx

Possible marriage in Granville to Vera Ilma WILSON in 1922 (reg 7442).

They had a son named Edmund Russell DAVIES in 1925; he died aged 46 in 1971 in Bankstown NSW (reg 68838).

His WWII enlistment:
DAVIES EDMUND RUSSELL : Service Number - 74907 : Date of birth - 01 Mar 1925 : Place of birth - HOMEBUSH NSW : Place of enlistment - SYDNEY : Next of Kin - DAVIES EDMUND

Edmund's wife Vera died in Newtown NSW in 1969 (reg 20248), daughter of James Bethel WILSON and Jemima Wallace HOUSTON.

Vera was born in Leichhardt NSW in 1898 (reg 22478). Her father died in 1941 (son of Wm & Ann) and mother Jemima in 1935 (dau of Wm & Mary).

Edmund died in 1982 aged 84. See Ryerson Index (www.ryersonindex.org) for Edmund, Vera and their son's death notices (you can request lookups).

Joseph

The Granville area seems significant. Here are two possible marriages for siblings of Edmund and Annie (from the 1901 census):

1621/1911 DAVIES BENJAMIN MALLINSON ELLEN GRANVILLE
1605/1913 VAIRY JOHN H DAVIES EMILY GRANVILLE

There is a death on the Ryerson Index for a Benjamin DAVIES that fits dates (died 1984 aged 97). And a possible for his wife Ellen in 1970 aged 85 (late of Granville).

John & Emily had a son named Wm Jas VAIRY (born 21 Apr 1921 in Granville); he died in 1993 aged 71 (see Ryerson Index).

John Henry VAIRY died in Parramatta in 1971 (reg 61799), aged 84, son of Richard & Martha Ann. Emily VAIRY died in Granville in 1984 aged 92 (see Ryerson Index again!)

Death for Albert V, aged 83
44634/1970 GREEN ALBERT VICTOR MATTHEW ELINOR WOLLONGONG

Possible death for Annie (b. c1890) from Ryerson:
GREEN Annie Death notice 24JUL1982 Death 93 late of Illawarra Retirement Village, Towradgi

Looks like the DAVIES were a longlived bunch!

Well done Cherilyn.

I had been contacted by someone with a "Hot Match" and have been chasing my own family and did not get back to this.

You did not need my help anyway, you have done brilliantly.
Once we got the correct spelling for the surname they were easier to find !!
