Find Ancestors

Hi, I would appreciate any help in trying to trace my 3 x gr.grandfather Henry Wood. The only info I have been able to find is the 1881 census.
1881 Henry is 25 yrs old, living in Aston with wife Caroline (nee Kelsey) 21 and son Charles Wood aged 2.
On Charles birth cert Henry's occupation is Railway Stoker.

Didnt know where Aston was so used Warwickshire. 2 possibles: 1854 september quarter vol 6d page 2031 or 1859 March Quarter vol 6d page 285. These relate to birthsfor Henry Wood. There were lots of Henry Wood with a middle name or name Henry wood.... have you tried familysearch? or free bmd ( both free to use)

You need to invest in the marriage cert which should name his father .

Thank you for the information below. What I should have put on the original post is that in 1881 Henry is shown as being born in Berkswell, Warwickshire so I dont think the births below fit.
I have looked on familysearch without success (other than the 1881 census) and freebmd offers one or 2 possibilities - was hoping somebody might be able to find something on a census that I have missed!

I will hazard a guess that Henry born Berkswell on 1881 may be the same born Herkswell in 1871

Hi Lindsey - thats fab! I had looked at the 1871 census too but didnt find him! That looks really positive.
Henry's father is Charles, which would tie in with Henry naming his first son Charles!
As advised, I may need to order a birth cert - there is a Henry Wood registration in 1856 that could well fit! Or maybe his marriage cert as I know that is definitely the right Henry.

If we have the right family, Charles is a platelayer for the rialway, but not with Ann on the 61.
