Buy the son's birth certificate which will give you both parents full names, their residence and dads occupation.

From that you can find their marriage and work backwards.

The middle initial on the original census image doesnt look like an E to me.

This seems to be the best match for a birth ref: Sharlston comes under Wakefield registration district. using the ref you can buy the certificate for £7 from GRO online (read the tips for new members)

Births Sep 1900

The middle initial on the original census image doesnt look like an E to me. It may well be a mistake as the name above has an E as middle initial.

Anyway, this seems to be the best match for a birth ref: Sharlston comes under Wakefield registration district. using the ref you can buy the certificate for £7 from GRO online (read the tips for new members)

I see dad is George W and mum is Ann E and she comes from Newark.

Going on that info, this looks like their possible marriage:

Marriages Mar 1900
Brown George William Newark 7b 553
Hargreaves Ann Elizabeth Newark 7b 553

You need to buy the boys birth cert to be sure though. If it is the same couple, you can then use that ref to buy their marriage cert and get the details of their fathers .
