I am trying to trace army records for Frederick Taylor born approx 1887 - we think in Sheffield. Yorks UK. He lived in Sheffield when he went to fight in WW1. His Father was a Cutler in Sheffield. We have tried military sites on Ancestry and Find My Past but cannot find anything. We are hoping that someone else is researching the same person (My Son's partners Gt Grandfather) and can maybe help. Or if anyone has any tips we would appreciate it.

Thanks - Julie

You can see if National archives has his medal card. I had a quick look and there are a few Frederick Taylor's medical corp. If they have it you can download for around £3

If there are service records, they won't be on Ancestry yet as they haven't reached T

Medal cards are on Ancestry also, so if you subscibe you dont have to pay £3-00 to download.

I have just looked and there are over 20 Frederick Taylors associated with the RAMC, unless you know his service number almost impossible to find which one is his.

They do not contain much info, other than the information about the medals he gained during his service.
