Looking for parents of Samuel Lewis, who married Elizabeth Hughes at the Independent Chapel in Northwich, Cheshire, in May 1858. Robert Lewis, father,(farmer) is described as deceased on the marriage certificate. From census information Sam must have been born in 1830. In 1851 he was working in Norley as a servant to widow Elizabeth Lewis (73) farmer. Were they related?
I'd like to know if Sam had any siblings and where his parents were born. He spent most of his life in Norley ,where there are many other Lewis families. Were any of them related to Sam?

Yes, the first Samuel and family suggested by Susan is the right one.
Thanks to the researchers but I don't think the Sam born c 1825 is the correct one. My Sam's age is quite consistent on all the censuses from 1851-1901, which is why I think the11 year old in 1841 living with Joseph and Sarah Lewis must be the right one
I'm doubtful about the Elizabeth on the 1851 census being Samuel's mother . Why would he be described as servant rather than son? She would have been 52 at the time of his birth - quite unusual.
I've been told by a relative that Elizabeth( neeHughes), his wife, died 12/02/1891, and that Samuel died 16/02/1916, if this is any help. As well as surviving sons Robert and Henry, they had Emma and John who died in infancy.
The only likely Elizabeth Lewis I could find in the 1841 census lived in Llansannan Denbighshire, wife of farmer Thomas Lewis.
