how do i find deaths not in the free bmd

i am trying to locate the death of my G. gran and G grandad. mary jane MORRIS born 1860 and joseph MORRIS born 1862. both were living in leigh lancashire in 1911 census with there adult children. The free bmd does not have death records for this late. can you suggest where i will be able to look for them. i have asked at various cemeterys and register offices etc but with no year cannt get any help. Any suggestionds gratefully accepted. maria

FreeBmd do have deaths after 1911 ,but born in the 1860 they could well have lived up to the 1960,s and these aren't searchable by name yet on Ancestry. You have to trawl through each year by the quarter so a ten year search would be 40 look ups

You can search quarter by quarter thru 1983 at:
http://images.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/choose.pl

It's a bigger pain than Ancestry, so check the transcribed stuff with a regular search first.

Hi Maria check out Lancashire BMD website, not sure when their records go to but you may be lucky.
