Right, I should have waited. Had the wrong one. He was plain Leslie when he married, no middle initial.

About the only thing to do is go through the GRO index images for deaths after 1958. Or wait until Ancestry makes them searchable on line, which should be fairly soon.

Unfortunately you are just searching for such a common name that your task seems virtually hopeless, in terms of finding official records.

childrens names are graham leslie and joyce he may have had more children post 1958 to a different partner

yes i have been trying for ages. Someone must know the family or what happened to him. Its been a long process

sorry leslie j wood married in 1947 to joan cowle and had 3 children then he left them in 1958 they never heard from him or his family again.

Do you know whether he married? Presumably by 1958 he would have been married if he were going to. Wife's name? Children?

His siblings' names are so common that finding marriages for them would be a real chore ...

If you were to get their birth certificates you would have their exact dates of birth. The post-1984 index can be searched by name (even just given name, for women who married) + date of birth alone. That could identify any death that occurred after 1984.

There is a Leslie J Wood marriage in Liverpool in 1943 that might be a possible - it's the only likely-looking one. With four possible births. I will PM those names to you.

Hi trying to find a relative leslie j wood, have his birth 24/12/1924 and siblings john doris and joan. Mothers maiden name hardy. West Derby liverpool. I need to find relations of these people that would know if Leslie is alive or dead or indeed any living relative.
