Trying to find Glenys Mary Williams C1924/5

You need to know Glenys's mother's surname to find whether she had siblings -- you can search for births by the two surnames (after 1911).

Problem is, if she had a surname as common as Williams in that area, say it was Jones, you're going to run into far more Williams-Jones births than you could ever sort out.

Her marriage certificate will give you her father's name. That's the least you need for making a start on trying to find siblings.

Oh, oops, you have that. ;) William James Williams. I'm afraid I might despair, if I were you!

Oh, duh. Her birth certificate ... but no, there are nearly a dozen Glenys M Williams births in 1924-25 in Wales.

Do that search at FreeBMD and see whether you think you can rule any out geographically, I'd say, to start.

The mothers' surnames are Smith, Price, Rees, Moran, Davies, Griffiths, Hughes, Evans ... with some doubling up on a couple of them ...

Update!
Having spent all day in the records office I have found out that Brinley griffiths died (1956 aged 40) 6 months after getting married to Glenys

Glenys lived at 47 shingrig road, Nelson until approx 1962/63 and then I get stuck..........

How can I find out where she went next?????

Thanks in advance

To be honest it's a tricky situation all round as I do not know whether or not Glenys is still alive, same applies to her husband Brinley Griffiths
All I know aside from marriage in 1955 is that they lived in Shingrig Road in Nelson in 1955. The reason for not knowing much about this, is that there is an adoption involved. which was completed 1 day before their wedding.

I know I could quite (or at least fairly) easily go to BMD and find out if she is deceased but at this time I am just trying to find out any family information before I approach that (shall we say) final step.

As for:
Glenys M Williams + Arthur B Jones
Jul-Aug-Sep 1948 Cardiff Glamorgan

That could be a possilbe match for her first marriage (states on marriage certificate to Griffiths that she was divorced from Jones)

Any help appreciated

Thanks
John

I don't know my Welsh geography, but these look like your two possible marriages, assuming she used her middle initial:

Glenys M Williams + Owen G Jones
Jul-Aug-Sep 1947 Carmarthen Carmarthenshire

Glenys M Williams + Arthur B Jones
Jul-Aug-Sep 1948 Cardiff Glamorgan

I am assumng the Mr Jones in question is deceased. Can you give your relationship to Glenys, and is she deceased? Personal info about living people can be sensitive and best not posted publicly, is why I ask.

There is a possible William James Williams on Familysearch born Jan 1900 in Cefn Coed Brecknock Wales. His father was Thomas Daniel and his mother Maria Jane. They are shown as living at 5 Fairview Vaynor Duffryn & Gelly Brecknock Wales in 1901- if his birthdate is different might be worth going onto that site and entering the correct info.

Over 9000 williams /Jones marriages fron 1945 to 1955 - have you trtied the electrol roll for her fathers house to see when she left or Mr Jones joined the household..may shortedn the possible dates.
Was her mothers maiden name Jones? maybe she took her mothers name if say her dad left and there was no "Mr Jones"
You can find this out from her parents marriage cert or posibly on BMD if you know an approximate date. The 1911 Wales census will help you track dad back he may well have been with his parents then dependant on his age of course.
