It's pretty unlikely that anyone reading knows your Paul. ;) The only Paul Harris with mother Elliott (two Ts) is 30ish and was born in Wales, per the births index.

You must have an idea of how old your Paul is? Any siblings' names? Have you searched trees here at GR for him?

For living people, it's generally recommended that one try the FriendsReunited website.

If you search at BT on line

http://www.thephonebook.bt.com/publisha.content/en/search/residential/search.publisha

for Harris in Saltburn by the Sea, there are 22 results, several of which are P. You might find a family member there.

Janey,
Thanks for your reply, yep tried searching the tree's, 192.com, facebook and via a few community boards. I am trying to trace an old Navy friend, all I know is Paul Harris born 1971 and im assuming it was saltburn as thats where he lived and I know he still had a gran or something there a few years back. I have find what I believe is his birth record which is mothers name of ELLIOT.

will check the other sites your recommended plus the saltburn harris's. Thanks for looking, unfortunately if I remember correctly he isnt the sort of guy for these or other social sites so its going to be hard.

Regards Jason

Twice today I've been an idiot. The record I was looking at was a marriage, not a birth. ;) Yes, I see that one. (Two Ts, still.)

If you have access to the index, search for births in the same place with the same two surnames around the same time. There are two births that are probably siblings, and those names could help your search. I don't see a likely marriage for the possible sister in that vicinity.

Janey,
I checked my records and I have already sent out loads of enquiries to HARRIS'S from Saltburn with no luck yet, I have found another record for a sibling with same surname but only 1 T but likely to be the same. I have also found an address for P HARRIS in Saltburn, unlikely I know and its pulling at straws but you never know. Got a few more checks to carry out but thanks for the suggestions so far, I kick myself for not keeping better records of friends etc 20 years ago. I have a feeling he may have emigrated years back so that dont help.

Anyway thanks again, Jason
