Trying to find a BENNETT on the 1901 census! (Need

I have the marriage cert for my great grandparents. William John BENNETT to Violet Sarah HILL in 1923, Newington, London.

William John BENNETT age is given as 27 so born abt 1896. Father is William Henry BENNETT, occupation Warehouseman.

I'm trying to find the Bennett family on the 1901 census but I've had no luck. I would hve thought I could have found a William H with a son William J, if they were in the South London area then it would almost confirm the match or at least give me something to work on. Does anyone fancy trying to find them? I need them to be able to progress this branch of my tree further!

Kind regards, Steve

The address looks like Cumott Street, William was at 58, Violet was at 54.

One of the witnesses was the father, William Henry BENNETT. The other is a bit hard to read, looks like Charles Witham Shambacks!

Hi Karen, he was 27.
The 58 reffered to the address.

Hi Karen,
Thanks for taking the time to help. I'm trying to find them on the 1901 census... however it looks like I'll have to go down the road of ordering the birth certs to get the place of birth... the 2nd and 3rd ones look like big possibilities.
Thanks again
Steve

No, the only info I have is whats on the Marriage Cert, therefore I've not yet got them on the 1911 census... Thought it would be easier to find the family on the 1901 census (and cheaper!). Once I have a little bit more info I'll hopefully be able to go back through all the census's and perhaps find another generation or two. Until I can find the place of birth I am well and truely stuck! Darn popular names! LOL :-)

Oh thanks, they both look promising! I'm gonna do some digging and see if I can find them on the 1911 with the same details.
Cheers :-)

Hi Von,
It is really difficult to read, I've looked on multimap for various variations, how do you access the Victorian Street names?
It could be any of the following, but I am certain it ends in "tt" or "lt" although it looks almost like a capital H.
Cimott, Cimolt, Amott, Arnott, Amolt.
The more I look at the C it now looks like a very rounded and incomplete A.
Hope that helps?!
The church again is difficult to read, but it starts with the same letter that could be an A or a C but it looks more like St Andrews Parish Church in the parish of Newington.
Looking at the date of marriage, what I thought was an C is def an A (August!)

Ooooh I think you guys might have found them :-)
Looking at Charles Shamback on the M cert it could infact be Charles Arthur Shamback.
I'll see if I can find them on the 1911...

Good work everyone :-)
Just downloaded the 1911 image and William is shown as a Warehouseman so thats another step in the right direction. I've got plenty to go on now so thanks to everyone for the help, I really appreciate it! I'll still need a birth cert to confirm but this is looking good!
Regards
